On August 25, CMS came to Seoul right after its 20th birthday and by the advantage of the 19th anniversary of China-ROK diplomatic relations. With the guests present jointly starting the buttons in their hands, CMS International Co., Ltd. Seoul Office was formally established. It is the first office of CMS outside China and the first office in South Korea whose establishment had been reported to China Securities Regulatory Commission for record. This is a landmark in CMS’s history.

In his speech, Gong Shaolin, Chairman of CMS, expressed the hope that CMS International Seoul Office would become a bridge. “Firstly, it connects Mainland China with investors of South Korean agencies. The Seoul Office will assume non-direct management functions, such as information collection, coordination and liaison and business promotion related to investment banking, asset management, brokerage and other businesses; and secondly, connects Hong Kong and investors of South Korean agencies so that CMS is able to provide better services for South Korean investors. The office also provides a platform for the South Korean enterprises to investigate how to list in Hong Kong and Mainland China. More importantly, it will become a friendship bridge. We hope to enhance cooperation, mutual understanding and common progress with South Korean peers and explore and open up a new situation in financial cooperation.

In recent years, South Korea’s demand for investment in Mainland China and Hong Kong has been growing and CMS has firmly grasped the trends and opportunities in this situation. “In order to better understand the South Korean market, establish closer working relationship with South Korean peers, enterprises and investors and better meet the financial needs of South Korean partners, we have carefully prepared the establishment of the Seoul Office which will be upgraded to a branch as soon as possible,” said President Yang Kun in the opening speech at the investment strategy meeting held in the afternoon.
