At the Investment Forum of 2012 Forbes China Best Up-and-Comers and Award Ceremony for 2012 Forbes China Best Investment Banks, which was held in Sofitel Wanda Beijing on March 15, 2012, China Merchants Securities was honored by the "2012 Forbes China Best Investment Bank" award. Yu Mingli, Chief Director of the Beijing Office and Executive Director of the Investment Bank Headquarters, attended the ceremony and received the award.

On February 20, 2012, Forbes China released a list of 2012 Forbes China Best Investment Banks based on its first comprehensive and independent survey of securities firms and investment banks engaged in underwriting and sponsoring in the A-share of China. This survey ranked all candidate securities firms and investment banks in terms of IPO clients, price-to-earnings ratio variance, IPO approval percentage by China Securities Regulatory Commission, IPO size, and IPO underwriting and sponsoring expenses based on various IPO underwriting indicators in the A-share market. China Merchants Securities distinguished itself from other candidates and won this special honor.
