The Consumption and Retail session of the 2011 China Merchants Securities Forum was held in Shanghai on September 2. Yang Kun, President of China Merchants Securities, mentioned in her opening speech that the world economy was still confronted with major uncertainties, to maintain the sustainable and vigorous growth in such an environment, it is necessary to focus on boosting domestic demand. Because of that, consumption is the most concern of people. Therefore, we chose Shanghai, the city striving to be an international business center, as the place to hold the China Merchants Securities Forum to discuss about the quantitative and qualitative changes of the mass consumption in the next 10 years.
