Guangxi Love and Care Kitchen
The Guangxi "Love and Care Kitchen" program is one of the public interest projects donated by the China Merchants Securities to other organizations in 2012. The China Merchants Securities worked together with Nanning Education Foundation to build love and care kitchens for village and township elementary schools in remote regions in Nanning, Guangxi.
The China Merchants Securities conducted field surveys for the Guangxi love and care kitchen charity program and visited four elementary schools in townships and towns in Chenxiang Town, Nanxu Town and Buquan Town in Long'an County in Nanning, Guangxi. The four elementary schools only have kitchens of simple conditions to provide simple meals to students. It is even impossible to give them hot rice meals. Students only have boiled or fried rice noodles for lunch all year long. There is no storage equipment like refrigerator so that food can go bad easily. There is a larger probability of mass food poisoning incident.
An investment of RMB 300,000 yuan will be put into the Guanxi "Love and Care Kitchen" program to build kitchen facilities in 30 township and village elementary schools in the region of the Long'an County in Nanning. At present, equipment bid tendering has been completed for the program. The Nanning Education Foundation will conduct the installation and commissioning of kitchen equipment. The entire project implementation will be finished by the end of August in 2012. Students of these schools will be able to have hot rice meals when the new semester begins.
